The Sorcerer's Apprentice



Walt Disney Studios, producer Jerry Bruckheimer and director Jon Turteitaub, the creators of the "National Treasure" franchise, present The Sorcerer's Apprentice, an innovative and epic comedy adventure about a sorcerer and his hapless apprentice who are swept into the center of an ancient conflict between good and evil. Balthazar Black is a master sorcerer in modern-day Manhattan trying to defend the city from his arch-nemesis, Maxim Horvath and Morgana le Fay an evil wizard with nefarious plans. Horvath is determined to claim New York City for his own evil purposes, and enlists an illusionist to help him toward that end.

Balthazar cant do it all alone, so he recruit Dave Stutler,a physics student at New York University whose seemingly an average guy but demonstrates hidden potential as his reluctant protege. This 20 year old boy apparently has no idea that he is a descendant of Merlin or that his true destiny is to save the world. So, the sorcerer gives his unwilling accomplice a crash course in the art and science of magic, and together these unlikely partner work to stop the forces of darkness. It'll take all the courage Dave can muster to survive his training, save the city and get the girl as he become The Sorcerer's Apprentice.

Jay Baruchel as Dave Stutler: An average college student who becomes Blake's apprentice. He also stars in Dreamworks romantic comedy "She's Out Of My League" as well as an animated feature "How To Train Your Dragon" as the lead voice of Hiccup Horrendous Haddock.



Alfred Molina as Maxim Horvath: An evil magician and Balthazar's rival. He serves as one of the two main villains of the film. The other villain is Morgana le Fay; Merlin's greatest enemy played by Alice Krige.

It is an entertaining origin story; some truly neat special effects played against the very real streets of New York City makes The Sorcerer's Apprentice that much more magical and lots of fun to see on the big screen.
